Terms of Service

StartMyPatch is operated by StartMyPatch, of 26, Heather Crescent, Douglas, IM2 1BB ("we", "us", "our"). Contact: hello@startmypatch.com.

StartMyPatch is software-as-a-service for people starting and running local service businesses. It includes tools to research local demand, publish a business website (with optional instant-quote calculator), manage clients and leads, schedule bookings, send PDF invoices, set up marketing pixels, and follow an in-app missions and playbook programme.

We provide software. We do not operate your trade, employ you, or guarantee any business outcome. You remain responsible for your own customers, insurance, licences, tax and compliance.

You must provide accurate account information and keep your login secure. You are responsible for all activity under your account. You must be at least 18 and able to form a binding contract. One person or business per account unless we agree otherwise in writing.

Pricing depends on the path you choose at signup. Starting a business: Free to sign up and build your business. Your paid subscription of £29 per month starts when you confirm your first booked job on the platform. Billed monthly, cancel anytime from your dashboard — no contracts, no cancellation fees.

Growing an existing business: Free for your first 30 days — full access, no card needed. Your paid subscription of £43 per month starts when the trial ends. Billed monthly, cancel anytime from your dashboard — no contracts, no cancellation fees. When the trial ends without a subscription, creating new bookings, quotes and invoices pauses until you subscribe; your published website stays live and everything you have already created remains accessible.

Founding members (while spots remain) pay £19 per month regardless of path, under the same trigger and cancellation terms — once granted, the founding price is honoured for as long as the subscription remains active. Prices include VAT where applicable; tax is handled at checkout by our merchant of record, Paddle. Card details are collected and stored by Paddle — they never touch our servers.

You agree not to:

• use the service for unlawful, fraudulent or misleading purposes;
• publish content that infringes others' rights or is abusive or defamatory;
• attempt to probe, disrupt or reverse-engineer the platform;
• resell or rebrand the service without our written consent;
• use automated scraping beyond normal browser use of your own sites.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these rules.

You retain ownership of the content you upload or publish (business name, photos, copy, prices, client records you store). You grant us a limited licence to host, display and process that content solely to provide the service. You confirm you have the rights to any material you upload.

For client and lead data submitted through your site, you are the data controller; we act as your processor. See our Privacy Policy.

The StartMyPatch software, branding, templates, playbook content and design system are owned by us or our licensors. You get a non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service while your account is in good standing. You do not get ownership of the platform or templates themselves.

Nothing in StartMyPatch is a promise of income or business success. Opportunity scores, profit illustrations, level names, playbook tactics and any projections are estimates or educational content based on typical market patterns. Your results depend on your work, your area, your prices and factors outside anyone's control. Many businesses fail. Never spend money you cannot afford to lose.

The service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation, or that third-party services (hosting, email, maps, payments) will always be available.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for lost profits, lost revenue, lost data, business interruption, or any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the service. Our aggregate liability for claims relating to the service is limited to the subscription fees you paid us in the three months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited (including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud).

You may cancel your subscription anytime from Money → Subscription and delete your account from Profile. We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these terms, non- payment after any grace period, or if we discontinue the service (with reasonable notice where practicable). On deletion, we remove your profile, sites and related records from our systems subject to legal retention duties and our Privacy Policy.

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be flagged in the app or by email. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page shows the current version.

These terms are governed by the laws of Isle of Man. Courts of that jurisdiction have exclusive jurisdiction, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protections that apply where you live.
